This year's World Falconry Day Celebration will be November 4th from 10 am - 2 pm.

Do you like raptors? Are you fascinated by Birds of Prey? Would you like to have an experience to learn more?

Join the Allison Woods OLC Team as we help celebrate World Falconry Day!

Falconers from all over North Carolina will celebrate World Falconry Day! This celebration takes place around the world annually on the anniversary of the designation of falconry as a cultural heritage by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

To help the public understand a little about falconry, falconers will gather at Allison Woods Outdoor Learning Center and will talk to the public about falconry, display some of their birds and speak to you one-on-one about their passion for birds of prey, conservation and how the birds hunt with their falconers.

There will be opportunities for artists, photographers, outdoor enthusiasts and children to see these magnificent birds up close.

You will have a chance to meet and talk to top officials, past and present from both the North Carolina Falconers Guild and the North American Falconers Association, the world's largest membership falconry organization, and yes...they will have their birds with them!

Tips for a great day:

Bring your camera. There'll be lots of opportunities for great pictures.

Bring water and a snack for you and your family.

Dress for the weather. The event is held outdoors on our runway so can be chilly.
